The Bob Wickham Society was set up in 2011 to celebrate the generosity of Headmaster Bob Wickham who, in 1955, transferred the School from his own private ownership into a charitable trust thereby securing the future of Twyford School.
Different Kinds of Legacy
There are many kinds of bequest that you can make:
Residuary – This is a gift of a percentage of the residue of your estate after any other specific bequests have been made. The advantage of this type of bequest is that your gift will not be eroded by inflation.
Pecuniary – This is the bequest of a specific sum of money. It is possible to index link this gift so that the final amount left to the School fully represents the original intention of the bequest.
Reversionary – This legacy allows specifically named persons to benefit from the assets you leave until their deaths, at which time the remaining assets are transferred to the School.
Specific – You can make provision in your will for specific items such as works of art, property or stocks and shares to be left to the School.
Substitutional – This bequest means that you can leave your estate to a particular person or persons but if they predecease you, the bequest would go to the School.
