A fond farewell to Colin Howman, Chair of Governors

The Governors, Headmaster and Bursar have gathered for and enjoyed a farewell lunch and music concert to thank Colin Howman, who steps down after 13 years of service on the Board, including the past five as Chair.

The Howman family’s relationship with Twyford is a long and valued one. Colin is part of three generations to attend the School. His father, Keith, left for Winchester College in 1948, Colin followed in 1981, and his three sons have since continued the tradition.

We were also very pleased to welcome Colin’s mother, Jean, as a guest of honour. A committed former Governor herself, she contributed an impressive 18 years to the School.

Colin’s steady leadership and thoughtful involvement have been much appreciated. We are sincerely grateful for all he has done for Twyford and for the time, care, and continuity he has brought to the role.

We are delighted to welcome Emily Fisher as our new Chair. Emily is a former Twyford parent of three herself and has been on the Governing Board since 2020.
