Our ongoing partnership with the Twyford community was highlighted once again this year at the annual cream tea held in the Jimmy Adams Cricket Pavilion. The event, which has become a valued fixture in the calendar, brought together members of Twyford’s older generation, including several former parents and teachers of the school, for an afternoon of conversation, refreshments, and cricket.
Guests enjoyed a selection of scones, cakes, and sandwiches while watching a lively Under 12 Cup cricket match from the balcony. The pavilion offered a comfortable vantage point from which to take in the game and the surrounding grounds, providing a pleasant change of setting for many guests.
A particularly happy moment came when one current grandmother was joined by her grandson, who took a short break from his afternoon's activities to visit her. It was a lovely reminder of the intergenerational connections that events like this help to foster.
The cream tea continues to serve as an opportunity to maintain and strengthen our relationship with the local community, offering a relaxed environment for guests to reconnect, meet new faces, and enjoy time together. We look forward to continuing this tradition, cathcing up with our neighbours and building on the positive links it supports.
