The Year 8s have been treated to a fascinating insight into the world of motor racing by Old Twyfordian James Gresham who visited the school to host our second Alumni Masterclass. They learnt about the journey of his brilliant career - working his way up from mechanic to logistics manager at Bridgestone supplying over 700,000 tyres to five F1 teams before moving to Pirelli and onto an active retirement. He brought with him two racing tyres, car parts and a variety of incredible photos to show the children who were full of interesting questions - we've never seen so many hands in the air! 

He also shared anecdotes from his time at Twyford during the early 1960's - his love of the science room and all things mechanical, the marked improvement in the food (!) and his chilly swimming lessons. His father and uncle were also pupils in the early part of the 20th century.
